Alright, if you’re reading this, then you made it to part 2 of my Osheaga review! Congrats. Since the heavens didn’t open up and rain down on us all day, the Saturday of the Osheaga Music Festival was a lot more fun. Although the lineup was considerably weaker than the other two days, it gave me more time to explore the massive layout.
Tip: It’s actually awesome to not know all the bands going so you have time to enter contests, play games, and win free stuff.
Since I already went over the layout and food situation, I’ll keep this one brief. As you can see in the photo above, Osheaga did a great job of trucking in artificial grass to keep the mud situation down. It was pretty much all dry by Saturday, which was incredible given how much it rained the day prior.
Plus, the artificial grass makes for a comfortable sitting area – but do be sure to bring a towel so you don’t get your clothes dirty.
I used Saturday as a time to explore the layout during nightfall (I didn’t really care about any of the headliners that night). The entire festival takes on a new persona once the sun sets, and there are some hidden goodies and awesome photo spots like this one above.
Here are a few new takeaways that I discovered the second day of Osheaga:
- Don’t Trust The Forecast: Yes, it was beautiful all day, but by 8:30PM, it started pouring again. I pompously left my poncho at home this day, and seriously regretted it. DON’T TRUST THE WEATHER FORECAST.
- New Towel: Friday did a number on my towel, so I’d have a new one packed if you want to keep your clothes mud-free.
- Shoes With Arch Support: By the end of day 2, my feet were starting to feel a little swollen. Be sure to have an arch supportive shoe for the final hours of the festival, or you’re going to regret it.
Time for the final write-up on Day 3 of the Osheaga Music Festival!
